AUS vs IND Dream11 3rd ODI Match Prediction | Who Will Win Today Match

Ranchi, March 08, Friday at 01:30 PM IST

So, the hosts have taken a 2-0 lead in the five-match ODI series on the back of two nerve-wracking wins. While the first win – 6 wickets win at Hyderabad came while chasing the total, the 8 runs win at Nagpur comes after successfully defending a par score at Nagpur. The Men in Blue are ticking all the boxes right now- the middle order is in form, bowlers are keeping a hold on their nerves in pressure situations and the all-rounders – V Shankar and R Jadeja are performing well too.

The only issue right now is that the openers- Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan are failing to fire at the top but that won’t be a serious concern for management as both require just one game to be back in the flow. And, that can be the third ODI in Ranchi which is scheduled to begin at 01:30 PM IST on Friday noon.

India eyes unassailable lead in Dhoni’s hometown

The third ODI in Ranchi marks MS Dhoni’s homecoming whilst some predict it to be the last time at his home ground. Dhoni has played three ODIs at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi in which the side managed one win, one loss and one no result. He has batted twice in Ranchi- 10 not out vs England in October 2013 & 11 vs New Zealand in October 2016 and has accounted for three catches and a stumping in Ranchi.

The hosts lead the series by 2-0 and would be aiming at an unassailable lead of 3-0  tomorrow.

A must-win game for the visitors

Australia is trailing 2-0 in the five-match series and is standing in a must-win situation. A loss here will provide an unassailable lead to India turning the series into a dead-rubber. The visitors had nearly won the last ODI to level the series but the last over from Vijay Shankar turned the things in India’s favour. Marcus Stoinis (52), who was brilliant from the visiting side, almost took the game away from the hosts till Vijay Shankar got rid of him on the very first delivery of the last over. V Shankar trapped M Stoinis leg before and sent him back to bring the equation to 11 required of 5 deliveries with 1 wicket for Australia. Shankar then bowled a wildly-swinging yorker into the blockhole to the on-strike Adam Zampa to book Australia for 242 with three balls to spare and clinched 8 runs win for India.

While they ticked all the boxes, it’s just that they couldn’t pull out at the end and slipped to another defeat. Also, another relief for Australia comes in the 37 runs knock from skipper Aaron Finch. Finch has been struggling from a terrible run of form and his 37 runs knock from 53 deliveries including five fours and one maximum can be one of the positives to draw from Nagpur ODI.

AUS VS IND DREAM11 TEAM

Fantasy picks from Australia-

The visitors would be in relief after watching Aaron Finch finally scoring some runs. He scored  37 of 53 deliveries and will be responsible for giving another good start while pairing up with U Khawaja at the top.

Shaun Marsh, P Handcomb and G Maxwell will be the key in middle order while M Stoinis can be seen in the role of a finisher

Pat Cummins and Adam Zampa have been the most successful bowlers for the visitors in the series

Fantasy picks from India-

Once again the onus will be on the top-order comprising of – Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and V Kohli

MS Dhoni, K Jadhav and V Shankar will be responsible for taking it forward in the middle order. There’s an outside chance of R Pant getting a game here at the place of Ambati Rayudu

In bowling, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar has high chances of making it into the playing11. In that case, M Shami will be given rest. J Bumrah will lead the pace attack as usual.

Kuldeep Yadav, R Jadeja and Kedar Jadhav will be in charge of the spin bowling attack.  The trio accounted for five wickets in the last ODI.

Toss updates –

  • India have won the toss and have opted to field and are playing the same team
  • Coulter-Nile has gone home for the birth of his child. Jhye Richardson comes in is the only change in Australia
