Perth, December 14-18 at 07:50 AM IST
After scripting history in Adelaide with 31 runs win, Virat Kohli and Co. are looking all set for their next hurdle at Perth starting from Friday. After taking a 1-0 lead in the four matches test series, India will face off Australia at Perth Stadium, Perth from December 14-18 in the second test match.
After a shaky and troubling start in the first session, India looked pretty confident in the rest of sessions and registered their first victory in Australia since 2007-08. Although the last-wicket stand worth 32 runs between Nathan Lyon (38*) and Josh Hazlewood was turning out to be a headache for the visitors, the Men in Blue were more often on the driving seat throughout the test.
Now as both the sides shift their focus to the new Perth Stadium, Aussie’s coach Justin Langer hopes his boys will succeed in levelling the series here. Unlike the wicket in Adelaide, the drop-in pitch in Perth is expected to provide much pace and bounce. Moreover, time will tell what the wicket has to offer.
Prithvi Shaw, who was the first choice opener for India in Tests, got ruled out of Adelaide test following an ankle injury and might take some more time before returning. The young lad is still not match-fit and KL Rahul and M Vijay will again be seen opening the innings for India in Perth as well.
So, the opening due of KL Rahul and Murali Vijay will have to produce significant knocks in Perth to prove their worth before the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne.
One of the two deputies of Tim Paine, Mitchell Marsh was axed from the Adelaide test following a series of flop show against Pakistan. In four outings against Pakistan, M Marsh managed just 30 runs with the bat. Now, after 31 runs defeat in Adelaide, let’s wait and watch if Aussie think tank considers including an all-rounder to ease out the four frontline bowlers or stick out to the same plan.
Here’s how the two sides may lineup for-

AUS VS IND DREAM11 TEAM
With 11 catches behind the wicket and handy 53 runs in two innings, Risabh Pant is a slightly better pick than Tim Paine in wicketkeeper. The Southpaw looked in good touch while sending the ball beyond the ropes and is likely to continue his fine form.
Fantasy Tip: Risabh Pant is a better pick than Tim Paine
With 194 runs in two innings, Cheteshwar Pujara is the leading run scorer from both the sides.
Ajinkya Rahane looked in fine touch in the second innings after getting out cheaply in the first innings.
Virat Kohli, who failed to fire in Adelaide is surely going to be the big shot in Perth for India.
From Australia, Travis head, Shaun Marsh, Usman Khawaja and Aaron Finch can be the key contributors with the bat. Aaron Finch would be in big relief with Ashwin missing out due to an injury.
Fantasy picks: C Pujara, V Kohli, A Rahane, S Marsh, U Khawaja and M Harris
J Bumrah returned with 6 wickets for India. Following him was M Shami with 5 wickets in the bag.
For the host, M Starc returned with 5 wickets. Following him were Josh Hazlewood (4) and Patt Cummins (3).
Fantasy tip: As it is a pace bowling friendly wicket, pick as many pacers you can!
