AUS vs IND Dream11 Prediction: After a cracking start to the international summer, Australia will look to back up their performance from the first game as India prepare to up their intensity. Hosts were superior with their batting returns on Friday as most of Indian bowlers had a day to forget. India will have some thinking to do before this one as they had no backup plan once their regular bowlers started chasing the leather. We will build up to the second ODI in our AUS vs IND Dream11 predictions.
Batting first on a typical SCG road, David Warner and Aaron Finch gave Australia a near perfect start in the first ODI. Both added 156 runs for the first wicket as Indian bowlers struggled to find the Australian lengths. Once David Warner got dismissed on 69, Aaron Finch carried on the assault with Steve Smith. Both slammed tons with Steve Smith being an aggressor with 66-ball-105 to propel Australia towards a massive total. Glenn Maxwell shrugged off his IPL disappointments with some fireworks at the end as Australia piled on 374 runs on the board. Mohammed Shami picked up 3 scalps for the tourists.
In reply, Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan began the proceedings in a T20 way. But that lasted only for a short while as Mayank Agarwal fell to Josh Hazlewood. Virat Kohli played some breathtaking shots but couldn’t prevent a cluster of wickets in the middle overs. India were reeling at 101 for 4 when Hardik Pandya joined Shikhar Dhawan. Both put on only resistance for India with a partnership of 128 runs. Opener made 74 while Hardik Pandya ruffled some feathers in the Australian camp with an innings of 90. In the end, India fell short by 66 runs as Australia went 1-0 up in the series.
In head-to-head comparisons, Australia are leading with 79-52 over India in 141 ODIs played between these two sides. 10 matches have been washed out due to bad weather. In Australia, India have been only successful on 13 occasions as Australia came out victorious in 36 matches. Notably, India went on to win the last bilateral series in January 2020 from a similar position by trailing 1-0 in a three-match series.
Pitch and Conditions
India failed to adjust to ground dimensions in the first game as often happens with the touring teams in Australia initially. A fresh pitch will be in use but that won’t change the dimensions significantly. The surface looked a touch slower in the second half on Friday. Hence, batting first will remain the preference today as well.

Who will win AUS vs IND Today Match Prediction?
As per our Today Match Prediction, hosts Australia are favourites to take the series on Sunday with another win. As we saw, Indian bowling looked toothless in the first outing and will have to up their game if India are to pull-off something here. Also, lack of sixth bowling option can be a crucial factor in India’s plans.
