Bangaldesh would be relieved with Mustafizur Rahman returning to the test squad. The left-arm pacer sustained an elbow injury in ODI series and was rested in the final ODI. With Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal already missing out, Rahman’s participation would have really come like a sigh of relief for Bangladesh.

C Mpofu replaces Richard Ngarava

Zimbabwe are boosted with the inclusion of Christopher Mpofu in the test squad in place of injury Richard Ngarava. The 20-year old Richard Ngarava picked up the groin injury while bowling in the third ODI. The experienced Mpofu replaces Ngarava who was set to make his Test debut but will have to wait longer.

3-day practice match

Zimbabwe played a 3-day practice match against Bangladesh Cricket Board XI to get familiar to the conditions. Batting first, the visitors posted 145-5 with Hamilton Masakadza’s (39), Sean William’s (29) and Sikandar Raza’s (32). In response, the Board XI scored 56-2 after which the match was declared drawn.
