BAR vs TKR Dream11 Prediction: As we get rolling into the second half of the Caribbean Premier League, some of the very important matches coming your way. Especially, teams sitting at the middle of points table can make or break their season in next couple of matches. Barbados Tridents will lock horns with Trinbago Knight Riders in 17th match of the season. The match will be played at Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain today. We will preview the match in our Dream11 fantasy cricket.
Barbados Tridents are coming off from what one would consider a surprise win over Jamaica Tallawahs in the last match. Batting first, openers Johnson Charles and Shai Hope continued to struggle as they got dismissed cheaply again. Kyle Mayers single-handedly carried the Tridents with his 85 from 59 balls which also included 8 sixes. But on the other end, procession continued as only Jason Holder and Mitchell Santner reached double figures. Defending 148 runs, their bowlers came to the party on a slow pitch. Mitchell Santner, Rashid Khan, Jason Holder and Raymon Reifer all picked up two scalps each as Tridents registered an easy win in the end by 36 runs.
The juggernaut of Trinbago Knight Riders is looking very difficult to stop even in the absence of Sunil Narine. They have almost secured their place in the next round with 5 wins in as many matches. In the last match, they overcame Guyana Amazon Warriors in a low scoring affair. Khary Pierre starred for them with 3 wickets in the bowling innings to restrict the Warriors to just 112 runs. Chasing a relatively straight-forward total, Tion Webster and Lendl Simmons gave them a decent opening. After a mini-collapse in the middle, Darren Bravo and Tim Seifert finished things off for them as TKR won by 7 wickets.
In head-to-head comparisons, Trinbago Knight Riders are fairing slightly better than Barbados Tridents. TKR have won 8 matches compared to 7 of Barbados Tridents in a total of 15 matches played between them. In last 5 matches however, Barbados Tridents are leading the pack with a 3-2 record over their rivals.
The weather is expected to remain cloudy for today in Port of Spain. Having said that, you can’t discount a shower or two in this part of the world anytime as we have seen so far in the season. There are a lot of criticisms about the nature of playing surface in CPL this year. Queen’s Park Oval has been particularly slow and batsmen have struggled to measure the pace of the pitch.
