CSK vs MI Dream11: It’s the contest between two most successful teams of the IPL. The 41st match of the IPL 2020 will be played between the last year’s finalists Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings at the historic Sharjah. Mumbai has looked their usual best and are sitting pretty comfortable at the 3rd position. They have had some excellent performances from all their players and have performed collectively as a team. From the top to the bottom, the team has variety of match winners in their lineup and all the players have contributed so far. Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock have been one of the best opening pairs of the competition. The talented and versatile Suryakumar Yadav has been excellent at No.3 with a wonderful strike rate. While Kieron Pollard has often finished off the innings well whenever he has got the opportunity, the bowling looks formidable led by the ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah. The balance of the team probably looks the best in the tournament and suitable for any conditions.
Chennai, on the other hand have been another successful team over the years. But their performance this year has been reverse to that of Mumbai. With 3 wins out of 10 games, they are last on the points table. The performances of their players have been average to say the least. Faf du Plessis has performed at the top but the inconsistency of the other players has affected the team’s performance multiple times. MS Dhoni’s poor season with the bat continues as he has struggled to get going. Against a quality MI attack, he will have a big task in hand. In the bowling, Deepak Chahar has got wickets with the new ball, but they have struggled to keep the run flow in check. Spin has been CSK’s strength but Ravindra Jadeja has picked up just 4 wickets in 10 games so far. They have hugely missed the experienced Harbhajan Singh in the spin department. CSK seems to have a huge task in hand and they will have to play out of their skin to beat a well balanced Mumbai in CSK vs MI Dream11 clash.

Chennai has struggled to find a winning eleven constantly throughout the competition. Though Faf du Plessis has scored runs at an average of 46, other players around him have struggled to score consistently. They have been unable to make full use of the powerplay and that has affected their final score. But the biggest problem has been the form of their designated finisher MS Dhoni. They have struggled to finish off games and have lacked intent to win. Jadeja has played few quick cameos towards the end but has been disappointing with his left arm spin. His last innings at Sharjah of 33 from 13 balls will give him confidence. Fast bowlers have conceded lots of runs in the death overs which has not helped their cause while the spin department, which has been their strength over the years has not settled. Bravo has been ruled out of tournament due to groin injury. That means the impressive Sam Curran will have a big role to play. Imran Tahir can replace Josh Hazlewood to bolster the spin bowling if the pitch looks dry on match eve.
Mumbai have been brilliant this season as they have been all these years. Their strength has been the balance of their team which is suitable to all the conditions and pitches. They generally don’t believe in changing their eleven much and that has allowed them to get settled. Quinton de Kock has fired at the top and is averaging 40. Rohit Sharma started off the tournament brilliantly but has lacked runs since. But his struggle hasn’t affected his team’s performance as other players like Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan have won them games with the bat. The finishing trio of Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya have finished off the games when needed, especially Pollard who has looked extremely dangerous. The bowling lineup, led by Jasprit Bumrah has been clinical. Rahul Chahar who was looked as the weakness in the lineup given his inexperience, has picked up crucial wickets in the middle overs. There have been no injury concerns in the team and they are likely to field the same eleven.
The pitch in Sharjah has slowed down as the games have progressed. In the start, even a score of 200 was not safe but now the average scores have decreased. In the last game played at Sharjah, Chennai were impressive with the bat and scored 178 which was chased down by Delhi in the last over. As the games have progressed, temperatures have gone down considerably and the chances of dew have increased. This was seen in the last game where CSK bowlers struggled with the wet ball. So expect the team winning the toss to field first. No chance of rain is expected and the weather will be clear for a good game of cricket. Sam Curran has been one of the few positives for CSK this year. He is now opening the batting, so expect him to get a few runs this time around. So make your CSK vs MI Dream11 team accordingly.

CSK vs MI Dream11 Expert Tips
Sam Curran- The English all-rounder has been one of the few bright spots for Chennai this season. He was brought into the eleven because Bravo was injured in the start of the tournament. But soon he showed his talent with both bat and ball. He has the knack of making things happen. He has picked up 10 wickets in 10 matches and has played a few quick cameos with the bat too. Now that he is designated to open the innings, He can be a match winner in the CSK vs MI Dream11 prediction with his allround performance.
Rohit Sharma- Rohit hasn’t scored big runs in the last few games, though his form hasn’t affected his team’s performance much. His record against CSK is good as he is only the second player to score 700 runs against CSK. Against an underperforming bowling attack, he will fancy his chances in the smaller boundaries of Sharjah.
Shane Watson- Watson has been scoring 30s and 40s but has failed to convert these scores into big ones. He needs just one innings to bring back his confidence. His experience at the top has been invaluable to CSK. This might be his game as he likes scoring against big teams and can single handedly take the game away from the opposition with his power hitting.
Suryakumar Yadav- The talented right-hander has had a wonderful IPL so far. His shots have been a treat to watch and he has the ability to score all around the ground. His strike rate of 148 while batting at No.3 shows how quickly he has changed the games for MI. He will be crucial to MI’s chances and will favor the shorter boundaries with his sweeps and scoops.
Faf du Plessis- Faf has had a wonderful IPL so far and he has probably the standout performer for CSK in an otherwise dismal campaign for them. He is fourth on the top run scorers list and is averaging nearly 47. Batting at the top of the order, he will again be crucial for this game to lay the foundation for the rest of the batting. CSK will want him to bat till the end.
Trent Boult- Boult has been a wonderful addititon of MI so far. He has picked up important wickets in the powerplay. He has been a touch on the expensive side but has picked up wickets almost every time with the new ball. CSK’s top order looks solid and MI will rely on Boult to deliver again.
