Mzansi Super League, 2018

Cape Town Blitz vs Jozi Stars, Match 09 | CTB vs JOZ WHO WILL WIN

The ninth match of the 2018 Mzansi Super League will see Cape Town Blitz lock horns with Jozi Stars in what is expected to be a pulsating encounter.

Jozi Stars came back valiantly after losing the first game to register a commanding 60-run win over Paarl Rocks.

One of the reasons for the loss of Jozi Stars in the opening encounter was a lacklustre batting effort that saw them scrap their way to 7-124. An improved batting effort was at the heart of their success in the last game. Ryan Rickelton (91) and van der Dussen (78) shared a 155-run opening stand to spearhead the batting effort that saw their side make 2-209 in 20 overs.

Like in the first game, Beuran Hendricks (2-13) led the bowling unit for the Stars’. But, this time he was ably supported by Simon Harmer (3-22) as the duo along with Eddie Leie (3-33) restricted the Rocks to 149 in 18.4 overs.

They’ll now face Cape Town Blitz, who is currently on a three-match winning streak. They come into this game on the back of a 12-run win over Nelson Mandela Bay Giants and will look to continue with the winning momentum on Saturday.
