The second warm-up match of the biggest cricket tournament, ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is between Sri Lanka and South Africa. Regardless, Sri Lanka’s recent tour was successful against Scotland, winning one match through DLS method and the other being called off due to rain.

The last series of Sri Lanka versus South Africa back in March saw South Africa win the ODI series with a whitewash 5-0. Sri Lanka couldn’t even get a single win in the T20 format as well. South Africa has always been dominant against the Lankans, having 43 victories in the last 75 encounters.

South Africa, on the other hand, has maintained spectacular form in the ODI format They have won 8 out of their last 10 matches (5-0 vs Sri Lanka and 3-2 vs Pakistan). Their bowling order crushed against Sri Lanka and should continue with their form coming into this world cup.

Coming into this World Cup, South Africa is ranked 3rd in ODI rankings while Sri Lanka is sitting at number 9.

SL vs SA Dream11 Fantasy Team

  • Quinton de Kock and Faf du Plessis are the hardest hitting batsmen in the South African lineup. Both are also the top batsmen from South Africa in the ODI rankings, coming in at fourth and fifth respectively. They should be expected to hit high scores in the World Cup especially against Sri Lanka where Quinton de Kick topped the leaderboard with 353 runs in total.

  • Hashim Amla is a vulnerable pick. He hasn’t been in form for the past couple of matches and hopefully, he can return back into form before the official games begin.

  • If Lungi Ngidi is able to recover in time before the game, he could pose a serious threat to the Sri Lankans. He grabbed 8 wickets from 5 matches in the series against Sri Lankans.
  • Angelo Mathews is the most skilled and experienced batsmen and has just returned to the lineup. He maintained an average of 52.5 all throughout 2018 and an average strike rate of 75.36. He also is the leading run scorer for Sri Lanka.

  • Malinga is the current Sri Lankan lineup’s star player. He is one of the most prominent ODI bowlers and has a total of 322 wickets from 218 matches so far in his career.

  • The middle order, powered by Karunaratne and Mendis looked very stable in the series against Scotland. Both the players scored half-centuries in the second match against Scotland.
