Mumbai, 25 February at 09:00 AM IST
After a comprehensive win to start the three-match ODI series, India Women would look to seal the deal when they meet England Women in the 2nd ODI at Wankhede Stadium on Monday. The veterans – Ekta Bisht, Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami – stood up for India in the first outing as the hosts won by a comfortable margin of 66 runs.
India know the areas they need to work on and want to put up a better show here, especially with the bat. Likewise, the English side were in control in both the innings of the first One Day International but complacency did them. The visitors, with the quality in their ranks, would want to come out stronger to level the series and take it to the decider.
Pitch conditions – Wankhede Stadium offers a decent batting wicket. However, there could be an even battle the way things have gone in the 1st ODI.
Head-to-head (last five ODIs)
England Women – 2, India Women – 3
India is unlikely to tamper with their winning combination.
The visitors can make a change or two after a dismal performance in the first outing.
