GAW vs TKR Dream 11 Team CPL 2020 – Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Trinbago Knight Riders

Under the captaincy of C Green, Guyana Amazon Warriors have been inconsistent so far managing just 2 wins from 5 matches despite having two young quality players in Hetmyer and Pooran. They folded out to a score of 108 in their last match against Jamaican Tallawahs before Russell did the finishing acts. Apart from Hetmyer and Pooran, no one has crossed the fifty run mark and even those two haven’t been consistent enough with their batting. Against a quality TKR bowling attack, GAW would want their batting to stand up.

Meanwhile, Trinbago Knight Riders registered their fourth straight victory of the season against St Lucia Zouks in a rain-affected game last night. Despite the absence of their star all-rounder S Narine, TKR restricted St Lucia Zouks to 111-6 in 17.1 overs before rain stopped the match. Once the rain eased, TKR chased down the DLS target of 72 with some cameos from Munro and DM Bravo.

T Webster and P Tambe were drafted into the TKR side after S Narine missed out due to some personal reasons. With still no update on S Narine’s status, the only change TKR could make is bringing in S Raza for K Pierre considering the left-handers in the GAW lineup. As far as GAW is concerned, they would want to bring back the experienced C Hemraj in place of Bramble after their batting collapse in the last game. Apart from that, there shouldn’t be any changes from the GAW side.

Pitch report

Queen’s Park Oval hasn’t been the batting deck as everyone thought it to be. With enough assistance for the spinners and the slow nature of the deck, run-making has become a tiresome task. With quality bowlers from both sides expect the match scores to be around 140 to 160. The forecast is for a cloudy day and expect the rain to stay away.

SLZ vs TKR Dream11 Prediction

Possible TKR Playing 11 – L Simmons, T Webster/S Narine, C Munro, DM Bravo, K Pollard(C), T Siefert(WK), DJ Bravo, S Raza, P Tambe/J Seales, Ali Khan, Fawad Ahmed

Colin Munro – He continued his good form with a cameo of 17(8) against St Lucia Zouks. With both Tahir and Nedd turning the ball into him and the lack of firepower in the GAW bowling expect him to continue his great form.

DM Bravo – With a total of 1011 runs at 38.88 in all T20’s at the Queen’s Park Oval and looking at his batting from the last game, Darren Bravo should be an automatic pick for your fantasy team.

DJ Bravo – First bowler to get 500 wickets in T20s, Dwayne Bravo got back to his best with a spell of 3-0-7-2 against St Lucia squashing all the concerns around his form.

S Narine – With unknown reasons for his absence in the last match, we can’t rule out a comeback for the mystery spinner who has displayed exceptional form so far in this tournament.

Possible GAW Playing 11 – B King, A Bramble/C Hemraj, S Hetmyer, R Taylor, N Pooran(WK), S Rutherford, K Paul, C Green(C), Naveen-ul-Haq, I Tahir, A Nedd

S Hetmyer – Hetmyer’s batting has somewhat fizzled out after starting the season with two consecutive fifties. The change in venue from Tarouba to Queen’s Park Oval might bring back the luck for him.

N Pooran – He hasn’t lived up to his potential in the tournament so far with 105 runs at an average of 21. But his 68(49) against St Lucia showed us what he can do on his day.

Naveen-Ul-Haq – The Afghan pacer has been impressive so far with his unorthodox action and slower-ball variations. With the tracks expected to play slow, his variations might come in handy.

I Tahir – The 41-year-old veteran has been impressive so far with 9 wickets from 5 matches. Despite the matchups stacking against him, you can back his experience to come good.

GAW vs TKR Dream11 Team Captain, Differential Picks

With the spinners ruling the roost at the Queen’s Park Oval, it is preferable to load your team with quality spinners. With a quality spinner who can turn the ball away from the left-hander missing from both sides, it would be idle to have some quality left-hand batsman in your fantasy team. Composition of the team should contain more bowlers and allrounders.

Captaincy Picks – The left-handed batters consisting of C Munro, DM Bravo, N Pooran and S Hetmyer are good choices to go with as captain. Considering Munro’s recent form and the lack of matchups against him in the GAW bowling attack, he can be your top choice. Going in with a spinner as captain wouldn’t be a bad choice either.

Differential Picks

L Simmons – His stocks dropped further after getting dismissed for a duck against St Lucia in the last match. But he is too good a batsman to not get over this bad patch. If he gets going, he can surely reap you the fantasy points.

S Rutherford – He hasn’t had the best of CPL this year but considering his immense skills with the bat if he comes good he would be the differentiator between you and your opponents fantasy team.
