GUY vs SLZ Dream11 Prediction: The points table in Caribbean Premier League is getting very interesting as we move on. In the 10th match of the season, Guyana Amazon Warriors will take on St Lucia Zouks on Sunday. Both teams are coming into this match after their victories yesterday. Whichever team wins this particular match will have a clear advantage in their standings. We will preview the match in our Dream11 fantasy cricket.
Guyana Amazon Warriors have come back strongly after losing their first match against TKR. They have been on the right sides in the last two matches. They defended the lowest total in CPL history to beat Jamaica Tallawahs yesterday. Batting first, Brandon King and Chandrapaul Hemraj started the innings brilliantly and put on a quick-fire 56 runs for the opening stand. But after that they faced a terrible middle-order collapse and they couldn’t recover from that. Only Ross Taylor was able to put some sort of resistance with his 21 runs. Guyana were bundled out for 118 runs. In bowling, captain Chris Green struck on the first ball of the innings followed by a couple of other scalps in the next two overs. Slower bowlers spun a web around Jamaica batsmen and the target of 119 was looking like a mountain to climb. Only Andre Russell was the real threat for the Warriors but the target was out of even his reach in the sluggish conditions. Guyana won the match by 14 runs in the end to bag two crucial points.
St Lucia Zouks have surprised a lot of experts by their performances in the league so far. After beating the defending champions Barbados Tridents in the second match, they outperformed St Kitts and Nevis Patriots yesterday. Andre Fletcher looked in really good touch as he made 46 runs from 33 balls. He was finding the gaps with precision against the Patriots. Mark Deyal is already looking like a find of the tournament with his big-hitting abilities. The Afghan duo of Najibullah Zadran and Mohammad Nabi contributed with 28 & 35 respectively as the Zouks posted 172 runs on the board. In reply, St Lucia bowlers picked up wickets at regular intervals and the Patriots were never really in the game. Scott Kuggeleijn was the star with 4 wickets while Roston Chase scalped 3 Patriots.
In Head-to-Head comparisons, Guyana Amazon Warriors have dominated the Zouks as per historical data. Guyana have won 9 out 13 matches played between them while St Lucia have taken 4 games. In last 5 matches also, Guyana Amazon Warriors have come out victorious on 4 occasions. Clearly, St Lucia Zouks need to bring their ‘A-game’ if they have any chances of surprising the Warriors.
There are some showers predicted in the afternoon but that should clear up very quickly. After that, clear skies and sunny spells are expected. In terms of playing surface, the same pitch from the yesterday will be in use again. There are patches of grass on the pitch and that may provide some extra bounce to the spinners. All in all, spinners will be dominating the proceedings as per the season so far.
