Geelong, January 03 Thursday at 09:20 AM IST
Bottom-placed Hobart Hurricanes Women would be eyeing their third win of the tournament when they face off Melbourne Renegades Women at Simonds Stadium, Geelong in their next away fixture of WBBL 2019. In ten encounters so far, Renegades have secured just two wins with eight defeats and are almost out of the race to the next round. They are left with just four more encounters and would be eyeing a couple of wins to salvage pride. After registering 5 wickets win over Brisbane Heat in the second last fixture, Renegades failed to capitalise their momentum and suffered 58 runs loss in the second head to head encounter with Heat in the last encounter.
Melbourne Renegades, on the opposite, registered their second win on a trot after thrashing Melbourne Stars by 1 wicket and 48 runs in the last two encounters. They are placed fifth in the ladder with four wins and four losses in nine encounters. Their second head to head encounter with Adelaide Strikers ended in a no result after rain played spoilsport. Renegades would be looking to carry forward the momentum and win as many games to climb up the ladder and fancy their chances for the next round.
Both the sides have released their squads ahead of the clash. Renegades have named the same squad without any change while Hurricanes have roped in K Fryett in place of Veronica Pyke. Both the teams will feature at Simonds Stadium, Geelong on Thursday for the clash which is scheduled to begin at 09:20 AM IST.
