Bottom-placed Hobart Hurricanes will look to gain some momentum when they face Sydney Thunder at Manuka Oval, Canberra tomorrow. In six encounters so far, Hobart Hurricanes have secured a solitary win against Melbourne Stars and are sitting at the bottom of the points table while Sydney Thunder have grabbed the second spot with four wins out of five games. Both the teams will reload on Monday for their second head to head encounter at Sydney Showground Stadium, Sydney.
Thunder LOok to grab the top spot
Sydney Thunder are on a three-match winning streak and would be eyeing the top spot with another win when they take on Hurricanes tomorrow. Thunder’s only defeat came against Sydney Sixers in the second encounter where they fell short by 36 runs while chasing 169 runs target set by Sixers. Sydney Sixers Women, on the top, are ahead of Thunder in net run rate and have the same number of winnings and points.
Hobart Hurricanes, on the opposite, started their campaign with 6 wicket loss against Perth Scorchers Women and faced another 5 wickets loss against Melbourne Stars in the second encounter. Their only win so far came in the third encounter against Melbourne Stars Women which they won by 72 runs. They are on a three-match losing streak after suffering defeat in the Super Over against Perth Scorchers in the last encounter.
Both Indian stars- Thunder’s Harmanpreet Kaur and Hurricanes’ Smriti Mandhana have put the stage on fire with their big hittings. With 11 maximums in four innings, Harmanpreet Kaur is even leading the sixes tally. She is four sixes ahead of the second-placed Striker’s Sophie Devine who has hit seven maximums.
