Hyderabad and Bangalore will meet in the 54th match of the Indian T20 League 2022. The fans can surely expect to see some fireworks during the match as both these teams consist of batters who are capable of hitting the ball out of the park.
Hyderabad suffered its second back to back loss in the last match. Meanwhile, Bangalore defeated Chennai to advance in the points table. Hyderabad and Bangalore have had different fates this season. The fans will surely love to see the two Goliaths battling it out between the wickets.
After winning 5 matches in a row, Hyderabad lost two matches back-to-back. In the last match, Hyderabad suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Delhi. The top batting order did not provide much support leaving everything on the middle order.
Hyderabad had to chase the humongous total of 207 set by Delhi. Unluckily, Abhishek Sharma and Kane Williamson got out after contributing just 11 runs in total. It was the collective effort of Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran that kept the Orange Army in the game but eventually the efforts went in vain. Nicholas Pooran found his rhythm in the last match when he hit 62 runs which constituted 6 mighty sixes.
Youngster Umran Malik’s lethal pace has become the talk of the town this season. In the last match, Malik bowled a delivery of 157 kph, fastest delivery of the Indian T20 League 2022. However, in the last match, the Hyderabad bowlers couldn’t do much in front of the raging batting lineup of Delhi. With that being said, Hyderabad has arguably the best bowling unit of the season, and in the later stages of the tournament, this bowling unit will become the differentiator.
Bangalore got back to their winning ways after they defeated the mighty Chennai in their last outing. The men in Red set a target of 173 runs and defended it brilliantly. During the first innings, it was good to see Virat Kohli score some runs. Kolhi scored 30 runs and his partner Faf du Plessis scored 38 runs.
Glenn Maxwell’s form with the bat has been questionable so far in this season. However, the Australian all-rounder delivered with the white bowl in the last match. He took 2 crucial wickets with an economy of 5.50. Dinesh Karthik proved to be one of the best strikers of the bowl in the last match. He hit 26 important runs which helped the team put on a decent score on the board.
Former Purple Cap holder Harshal Patel performed in the last match and took 3 wickets for the team. Meanwhile, Wanindu Hasaranga, Josh Hazlewood and Shahbaz Ahmed took 1 wicket each. Mohammed Siraj is yet to produce some magic in the white bowl as he is crucial in the death overs.
Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai is a high-scoring ground. The average 1st innings total at the stadium is 192 while the average 2nd innings total is 184. However, in the last few games of IPL 2022, teams have scored low totals and the pitch has supported bowlers to a great extent.
