A worthy win is what Australia got in the third ODI against India which means the series is still alive with the current scenario suggesting 2-1 in favour of India after the completion of three matches.
The Australian top-order which was eluded for runs from sometime finally broke the shackles as they toiled the Indian bowlers all around the park led by the opening pair of Usman Khawaja and skipper Aaron Finch. The duo piled up a mammoth partnership of 193 runs which saw Usman reaching his maiden ODI ton while Aaron Finch missed out of a deserving ton by just 7 runs.
The Indian bowlers made a terrific comeback though by restricting Australia to 313 as at one point of time they were easily looking to close their innings above 350.
The Indian batting in the chase perished under pressure with only skipper Virat Kohli standing tall at the wicket playing a lone hand in team’s cause and in the process reached his 41st ODI century also the second of this series.
His innings though couldn’t prevail India’s defeat and Australia finally opened their account of wins in the series.
