Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators will lock horns against each other in Eliminator 1 of the Pakistan Super League 2024. The fixture will be played in the National Stadium, Karachi.
Let’s take a look at our fantasy preview for this game.
Islamabad United vs Quetta Gladiators – Eliminator 1 of Pakistan Super League 2024 15 March, 9:30 PM IST National Stadium, Karachi
United ended their league stage run with a highly encouraging victory over table-toppers Multan Sultans. Even as their bowling unit conceded too many, Islamabad found valiant contributions from their explosive opener Colin Munro (84) and skipper Shadab Khan (54) to set up the chase brilliantly before lower-order mavericks Faheem Ashraf (23) and Imad Wasim (30*) propelled the team home.
Unlike United, the Gladiators couldn’t quite pull off an inspiring performance against the Sultans, who defeated the Quetta franchise by a whopping margin of 79 runs. Outside left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein (0/26) and young Pakistan batter Omair Yousuf (37), the Gladiators would’ve struggled to find positives out of the night. That will have to change if they are to reverse their fortunes in a straight knock-out game against Islamabad.

The surface at the National Stadium in Karachi is a balanced one and will be supportive to both batters and bowlers. Chasing sides have managed to win more T20 matches played at this venue. So the skipper winning the toss may look to field first.
