KKR vs DC MPL Team: IPL 2020 has reached the stage where fans are busy calculating the permutations and combinations of their teams making to the play-offs or even make it to the top two. Kolkata Knight Riders will fall into the first category with them having an equal share of wins and losses from 10 matches and their recent form being bad, while Delhi Capitals belong to the second category with just a win away from sealing a play-off spot. The last match between these two teams was an absolute run-fest at Sharjah with Delhi Capitals winning the game by 18 runs. This match could end up as a one-sided contest with a weak KKR batting unit pitted against one of the most complete bowling attacks this IPL.
Kolkata Knight Riders have been lucky to have secured 10 points this season with the repeated failures of their batting unit and the lack of venom in their bowling attack. They hit an all-time low last match against RCB scoring 89/8 from 20 overs, the lowest score in IPL after a team has completed its 20 overs. The lack of clarity in batting positions and the collective lack of form of their key batsmen have resulted in them under-firing with the bat, while the bowling attack has been largely toothless except for Ferguson who’s inclusion seems too late. This will be their last league game at their home base, Abu Dhabi and they would want to end it with a win.
Delhi Capitals success this season have been largely built on their all-round bowling unit, while their batting apart from Dhawan has performed well only in patches which was evident after they managed to score only 164 despite S Dhawan’s hundred in their last game vs Kings XI Punjab. P Shaw had a great first half but was outdone by pace and movement in the last couple of games, while R Pant is enduring his first average season since his IPL debut. N Pooran displayed the weakness in DC’s bowling line-up by attacking their fifth bowling option of T Deshpande and Stoinis. With the tournament nearing the closing stages, DC will look to regain the momentum with a win going into the play-offs.
KOL vs DEL MPL Prediction
Fixture: Kolkata Knight Riders vs Delhi Capitals, Match 42, IPL 2020
Date & Time: Saturday, 24th October 2020 at 3:30 pm (IST)
Venue: Sheik Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi
Pitch Report: Tracks at Abu Dhabi have been the slowest this IPL with the scoring rates being low compared to Sharjah and Dubai. 138 has been the average first innings score in the past three years at this venue with pacers picking a heavy share of wickets than spinners. A fresh track was used for the last game between RCB and KKR at this venue, which helped the fast bowlers with Siraj picking up 3 wickets. The same deck will be used for this game albeit with less grass on the surface.

Team news: Tom Banton is most likely to be persisted with since there’s no update on Russell’s injury status. But there’s also a case of bringing in Narine to replace T Banton despite the move weakening their batting.
Delhi Capitals rested A Nortje in the last game and he should be back replacing D Sams in the eleven.
Underperformers/Risky picks: N Rana’s batting form has been on a decline ever since his breakout season in 2017 with teams targeting him with short balls and wrist-spin. His returns this season are poor managing 184 runs from 10 games and his chances to score are limited against a side that possesses Rabada, Nortje and Ashwin.
T Deshpande came into the firing end of a Pooran assault last game with him conceding close to 40 runs from two overs. Even if DC retains him for this fixture, there are fewer chances of him succeeding against the KKR batting unit.
The predicted XIs for the KKR vs DC fantasy tips are as follows:
KKR Playing XI (predicted):

KKR vs DC Fantasy Tips
S Dhawan – The southpaw has been in unbelievable form ever since he cracked his first fifty this season against Mumbai Indians. He’s coming into this game on the back of a couple of hundreds and looks unstoppable. With 465 runs from 10 games, he’s just another knock away from pipping KL Rahul for the Orange Cap in KKR vs DC today match prediction.
S Gill – He’s the highest run-scorer for KKR this season scoring 312 runs from 10 games. He is one of the rare young Indian batsmen who do feel comfortable against pace especially the short balls which should hold him in good stead against Rabada and Nortje.
K Rabada – The last time Rabada went wicketless in IPL was in February 2017 picking at least one wicket in 25 games ever since. He’s the Purple Cap holder this season and will certainly amongst the wickets against this vulnerable KKR batting unit.
L Ferguson – Delhi Capitals batsmen have their fair share of troubles against the short ball except for R Pant and L Ferguson has the skills to exploit who has been on fire since his comeback into the KKR side.
R Ashwin – He’s been brilliant this season bagging 8 wickets from 8 games and has been a constant threat to left-handers with his traditional off-spin bowling. The presence of two left-handers in KKR’s lineup should help his cause.
V Chakravarthy – He has been bowling well this season but has only 7 wickets to show for his efforts but he can cash in today with the presence of 3 lefties in DC’s batting order.
