Leeds, April 17, Wednesday at 03:30 PM IST
Placed in the North group, Yorkshire and Leicestershire will start their English One Day Cup campaign tomorrow at Headingley, Leeds. Last year, Yorkshire faced a massive 107 runs drubbing at the hands of Hampshire in the second semi-final and got knocked out of the tournament. They have reached the knockout stages for the past five years, twice reaching the semi-finals and look determined to name the cup this time.
Leicestershire finished second from bottom- managing just 2 wins in eight encounters- and would be hoping for a better run this time. After starting their campaign with 72 runs win over Northamptonshire, the Foxes kind of lost the momentum and lost all their fixtures barring the last one against Durham in which they registered 5 wickets win.
Yorkshire has defeated Leicestershire Foxes in all the last five head to head clashes and will be looking to start the campaign with a win once again.
The Royal London One Day Cup 2019 is an English domestic white-ball tournament which features a total of 18 counties divided into two separate groups – North Group and South Group. Each side plays eight games in total including home and away after which the top three sides in the table advance into the knock-out stages.
The Royal London One Day Cup 2019 final will be played at the iconic Lord’s, London on May 25, Saturday.
