MI vs BLR Dream11 Prediction: In a clash of teams from upper half of the table, Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be up against each other. Both these teams have given us many humdingers in the past and none more than the first fixture this year when the match went into a super over. Fans would be hoping for another one of those crackerjacks at Abu Dhabi today as both will be looking to seal their places for the play-offs. We will preview MI vs BLR Dream11 contest.

Mumbai Indians were at receiving end of a run-feast in their last match against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday. Batting first, they lost in-form Quinton de Kock in the first over but Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav took forward the innings at a decent pace. MI lost 3 wickets quickly then after. Hardik Pandya took the center-stage in last 5 overs with his blazing 60 from just 21 balls. MI piled on 195 runs thanks to that late onslaught from Hardik Pandya. In reply, Rajasthan Royals made the light work of that huge score with Ben Stokes and Sanju Samson playing major parts for them. MI were able to pick up only 2 wickets and both of them went to James Pattinson.

Royal Challengers Bangalore are also coming off from a surprise loss against Chennai Super Kings in their last match. RCB batsmen were never able to get their timings right on a sluggish pitch. As a result, they failed to judge the right score on that pitch and ended up posting 145 runs from 20 overs. Virat Kohli top scored for them with his 50 while AB de Villiers made 39. In reply, only Chris Morris and Yuzvendra Chahal had some success to show against their names as CSK chased down the score rather easily with contributions from Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ambati Rayudu.

In head-to-head comparisons, Mumbai Indians have fared better historically against Royal Challengers Bangalore. MI have won 18 matches while 10 matches have gone RCB’s way. In last 5 matches, Mumbai are having a lead of 3-2 over RCB. First match this year between these two sides went to a super over where RCB beat MI with the help of brilliance from Navdeep Saini with the ball.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch here in the last match was a good one as both the teams scored close to 200. This game will also be played on the same surface today. If conditions remain the same, we expect another high-scoring encounter between these two sides. We are in late October and dew has started playing a deciding role on most occasions.

Royal Challengers Bangalore Team News

  • RCB are also likely to go in with the same playing XI even after the loss against Chennai Super Kings.
  • Devdutt Padikkal has been impressive for someone playing his first full season while Aaron Finch has been struggling in the recent matches. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers will remain their batting core at no 3 & 4 positions.

Captain Picks

For Small Leagues

  • Quinton de Kock should be on your list today if you are looking for a two-dimensional option for the captaincy. He has been in good touch with the bat as he is leading the batting charts for Mumbai Indians with 374 runs from 11 innings. He would be knowing a thing or two about RCB bowlers as he played with them couple of seasons back.
  • Virat Kohli is a safe and most popular bet for today. His consistency can’t be matched and with the form he is in, you can feel that another half-century is there for the taking. If you are looking for confirmed and low-risk returns, Virat Kohli is your man.
  • AB de Villiers has had a stellar record against Mumbai Indians over the years. Some of his innings at Wankhede have been written in IPL folklore forever. He has scored 619 runs from 16 innings at an average of 56.27 against MI.

For Grand Leagues

  • Ishan Kishan can be a good option for the grand leagues given the form he is in since he started opening. After guiding the chase against CSK with 68*, he made 37 in the last match. With Rohit Sharma still not available, he should continue to enjoy himself during the powerplay overs.
  • Hardik Pandya can be a very tempting option after the last match. His full range was on display against Rajasthan Royals as he smashed a belligerent 60. Only thing to take notice before selecting him as the captain is his limited game time. He hasn’t been bowling and if top order fires, he won’t have enough balls to make an impact.
  • Chris Morris is a given in the grand leagues. With him bowling with the new ball as well as in the death overs, there will be plenty of chances for him to pick up wickets. He has taken 10 scalps from just 6 matches till now and can also contribute with the bat in lower order if needed.

Who will win MI vs BLR Today Match Prediction?

As per our MI vs BLR Today Match Predictions, this has all the ingredients to become another nerve-jangling encounter between these two teams. Both are almost on same positions in the points table and will be aiming to take their names ahead for the qualification. On pure quality and team balance, Mumbai Indians are superior but RCB have enough match-winners up their sleeves to stop us from declaring any favourites for the match.
