Mumbai Indians go head to head against Chennai Super Kings in the 12th match of the Indian Premier League at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on 8th April, Saturday at 7:30 PM IST.
It was the worst possible start for Mumbai Indians to the season, they got thumped by Royal Challengers Bangalore in their first game. It was Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis master class opening partnership that put them out of the game. Mumbai Indians were in all sorts of trouble at 3-20 but it was Tilak Verma who played a gem of an innings, it was an onslaught from him on the Bangalore bowlers. Verma’s 84 in the end powered them to 171 which proved to be wasn’t enough in the end.
Chennai Super Kings on the other hand have played two games so far. They lost to Gujarat Titans in their first game. They came back strong in the second game to beat Lucknow Super Giants by 12 runs. It was a high scoring game where Ruturaj Gaikwad’s fifty set it up for the likes of Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali and MS Dhoni to finish with a flurry. Moeen Ali in the put the breaks during the chase as he scalped four wickets and then it was too much to do for the Super Giants in the final few overs.
