India Women vs New Zealand Women Match Preview | Who Will Win Today Match

Hamilton, February 10, Sunday at 08:30 AM IST

New Zealand sealed the series with 4-wicket win over India in the last ball thriller at Auckland and would be eyeing on the whitewash with the third and final game scheduled to be played tomorrow at Seddon Park, Hamilton.

While it was a close contest in Auckland, the batting was again a big issue with the visitors. Having put into bat first, India Women pulled 135-6 on the board in 20 overs. Barring Smriti Mandhana (36 of 27) and J Rodrigues (72 of 53) nobody else managed to score in double digits. However, bowlers did a commendable job this time with their accurate and disciplined attack.

Coming to chase, Suzie Bates (62 of 52) was in the runs this time. Skipper Amy Satterthwaite (23 of 20) was also looking great but the wicket kept falling regularly. At one point, New Zealand needed 14 runs off the final two overs and Deepti Sharma conceded just four runs in the nineteenth over and the White Ferns were left with nine runs to get in the final six deliveries. However, New Zealand held on their nerve to register a 4 wickets win with a single of the last delivery.

Now, with the series already lost, it will be interesting to watch if the veteran Mithali Raj gets a game or not. The hosts are expected to remain unchanged and would be eyeing on series whitewash to compensate the ODI series loss.
