The four matches series, three 50 overs and a solitary T20, between Australia U19 and New Zealand U19 Women, comes as a catalyst for Women Cricket to provide them better platforms and more opportunities to enhance their game. A 14-member squad has been named from both the sides ahead of the series that starts tomorrow at Bert Sutcliffe Oval, Lincoln.

The three 50 overs matches are scheduled on March 12, 14 16 and the only T20 is scheduled to be played on 17th March.  All the four-match will be played at the same ground –  Bert Sutcliffe Oval, Lincoln.

Australia U19

This is the second time Australia U19 team are on an overseas tour. The last time they went on an overseas tour was the tri-series in South Africa last year where they defeated the hosts as well as the emerging side from England, the third participating nation in the tri-series.

A 14-member squad has been picked by The Cricket Australia Women’s Youth Selection Panel with Shelley Nitschke named as the head coach. Hayley Silver-Holmes, Annabel Sutherland, Rachel Trenaman are some of the notable players in the squad who have already made their debut at WBBL.

The hosts have also named a 14-member squad to take on the visiting side with the skipper yet to be chosen. The squad has been chosen by national women’s selectors with Matt Bell assigned as the head coach. The squad includes four current White Ferns in the likes of Rosemary Mair, Jess Watkin, Lauren Down and Thamsyn Newton.
