ICC Women’s World Twenty20, 2018
Pakistan Women vs New Zealand Women, 14th Match, Group B | PK-W vs NZ-W WHO WILL WIN
The 14th match of the 2018 Women’s World Twenty20 will see the White Ferns’ square off against Pakistan Women at Gros Islet in St Lucia.
The White Ferns’ came into the tournament as one of the favourites but lacklustre show in their opening two games have seen them succumb to two chastening defeats making their qualification to the next round an arduous task.
Part of New Zealand’s problems has been their misfiring middle-order which has put additional pressure on Suzie Bates.
Like against India, Bates was New Zealand’s leading run-scorer against Australia. The No.1 T20I batter scored a 42-ball-48 but with the likes of Devine, Patterson and Satterthwaite falling cheaply, it became a little too much to do even for Bates.
With two defeats in as many games, New Zealand will have to win their remaining two matches and will also have to hope few results to go their way if they have to qualify for the semis.
Like the Kiwis, Pakistan has also been grappling with batting issues. Comprehensive defeats to India and Australia have detailed their 2018 campaign but they’ll be buoyed by their 38-run win against the Irish.
Skipper Javeria Khan (74) was the star with the bat for her side but she’ll know sterner test awaits against a potent bowling attack like that of the White Ferns’.
Venue:- Providence Stadium, Guyana
