The cricket extravaganza of the Indian Premier League is all set to roll its carpet in the home ground of the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the next header on Thursday. Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore will be taking on Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians in M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Both the teams are coming off a defeat in their first encounters and they would look forward to turning the tables when they meet each other. Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered a nightmare against Chennai Super Kings when the whole team got bundled out for 70 runs. However, Kohli would like to relish the fact that the bowlers of his team held their nerves to defend a below-par total until the end.
On the other hand, Mumbai Indians were hammered by the blitzkriegs of Rishabh Pant as the team lost by 37-runs. The team also failed to make a statement with the bat with Yuvraj Singh being an exception. Yuvraj Singh scored 53 runs off 35 balls, but his efforts went in vain as the team ended up losing the game. Both the teams will aim to register wins in this encounter for gaining their respective wins in the tournament.
It is good to get a game like this out of the way- Kohli
“No one wants to start like this, but it’s good to get a game like this out of the way – this early in the tournament,” Kohli said.
Rishabh took the game away from us- Rohit Sharma
“First game is always challenging for most of the teams. We made a few mistakes today and we will look forward to put things together in the next match. We were in the game in the first 10 overs while bowling but the way Rishabh batted, we have to give the credit to him,” Rohit Sharma said after the loss.
