Launceston, December 30 Sunday at 01:45 PM IST
Hobart Hurricanes have secured three wins from three encounters and will take on Perth Scorchers Aurora Stadium, Launceston on Sunday in the next BBL 2018-19 fixture.
Hobart Hurricanes’ last two wins against Melbourne Stars by 6 wickets and Sydney Thunder by 7 wickets have come through chasing and all the credit goes to the top order batters- D Arcy Short and Matthew Wade. The opening due is in terrific form and has amassed 301 runs in three innings. Barring these two, Hurricanes have George Bailey and Ben McDermott in their middle order. In bowling, Jofra Archer and James Faulkner have shared the load effectively and are among the leading wicket-takers for the side.
The foremost and biggest concern for Perth Scorchers would be dismissing the in-form duo at the top.
On contrary, in the three games so far, Scorchers have failed to produce a good start. M Klinger hasn’t fired so far and has just 33 runs in three innings. Josh Inglis and Sam Whiteman too haven’t produced anything significant. The only sigh of relief for Scorchers is that their bowling attack is up to the task. The two key bowlers -Jye Richardson and J Behrendoff have grabbed 10 wickets in combination and will be the key against Hurricanes.
Scorchers will also have to take a decision on Cameron Bancroft who is available to play after serving the long nine months suspension. His suspension ends on Saturday.
