Bottom-placed Perth Scorchers will lock horns with Melbourne Stars at Casey Fields No 4, Melbourne on Saturday morning and Sunday morning in back to back encounters. Placed at the bottom spot, Perth Scorchers have faced two consecutive defeats after registering a winning start to their WBBL campaign.
Scorchers registered 6 wickets win against Hobart Hurricanes in their opening fixture and went on to face two defeats against Sydney Sixers by 6 wickets and Brisbane Heat by 7 wickets in next two fixtures.
Melbourne Stars, on the opposite, have grabbed the third spot with two wins in three encounters. Stars started their WBBL campaign with 7 wickets win over Sydney Sixers and thrashed Hobart Hurricanes by 5 wickets in the second encounter. However, Hurricanes came stronger in the third fixture and Melbourne Stars faced 72 runs defeat while chasing 196 runs on the board.
Scorchers, who were already down with the ruling out of their key pacer Peipa Cleary due to an injury, will be missing out the services of their regular skipper Meg Lanning against Melbourne Stars.
