RR vs BLR Dream11 Prediction: The battle of Royals is all set to raise the temperatures of the Dubai afternoon even higher. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals from two different halves of the table will go head to head to kick-off this week’s IPL double-headers. Both the teams are coming off from losses in their previous matches. We will preview RR vs BLR Dream11 contest.
Rajasthan Royals are nearing do-or-die stage of their campaign if they don’t start winning soon. Bowling first in their last match against Delhi Capitals, Jofra Archer gave them an electric start with a couple of scalps in his first two overs. Jaydev Unadkat, Kartik Tyagi and Shreyas Gopal were also among the wickets as they restricted DC to a total of 161 runs. In reply, Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes began briskly but RR soon lost Jos Buttler and Steve Smith in the powerplay. Ben Stokes and Sanju Samson tried to rescue the chase from there but both got out after spending some time in the middle. In the end, RR had to give up their chase against the quality of Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada.
Royal Challengers Bangalore have now lost both their matches against Kings XI Punjab this year. In the last match, Virat Kohli was able to keep the scoreboard moving after the openers went early. But some of the tactics from RCB were questionable as they sent Washington Sundar and Shivam Dube ahead of AB de Villiers. As a result, whole batting lineup was disturbed and no one got going. They put on 171 on the board thanks to late power-hitting by Chris Morris. In reply, bowlers failed to cause any trouble to KXIP batsmen as they looked like chasing the score with some overs to spare. But tight couple of overs at the death meant that the match went to the final ball but KXIP were on the winning side by 8 wickets.
In head-to-head comparisons, there is not much to choose between both these sides as Rajasthan Royals are leading the race with a 10-9 lead from 22 matches played between them as 3 matches were washed out. RR have won 3 out of last 5 completed matches between these sides. In the first meeting this year, RCB registered a comfortable win against RR at Abu Dhabi a couple of weeks ago.
Pitches are bound to get slower in the second half during these period and given that this is an afternoon game, toss will play a crucial role. Teams would not want to field in scorching heat during the first innings. As we saw in the recent matches, new ball and powerplay overs go a long way in deciding outcome of the match.
