RR vs CSK IPL: IPL’s Match no 27 between Rajasthan Royals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad will be played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi.
Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad faced each other 13 times out of which Rajasthan Royals won 6 times and Sunrisers Hyderabad won 7 times. The average runs scored by Rajasthan Royals are 145.9 and the average runs scored by Sunrisers Hyderabad are 150.8. Below is the analysis of both the teams including their key players.
Rajasthan Royals so far in the competition won only 2 matches and lost 4 out of their 6 games. The team came into this match by losing its last match against Mumbai Indians. Rajasthan so far in this tournament failed to perform their best in both batting and bowling department.
In the last match vs Mumbai, batsmen performed well but bowlers were not able to pick wickets. The positive takeaway for the Royals from the last match is that both the openers performed well and gave a good start to the team. In the Middle-order, Sanju Samson also played with reliability and scored 42 runs. Shivam Dubey also played a knock of 35 runs but his strike rate was only 112.90 which restricted the team to put up 20 to 30 more runs on the board. We would like to see David Miller at number 4 instead of Shivam Dube. Miller can provide a good strength in the middle order and once he gets settled he can score runs at a good pace. Shivam Dube, Riyan Parag, and Tewatia can play the role of finisher. Rajasthan’s team is good but their only problem lies with the inconsistent performance from both the batting and bowling unit.
Admitting the fact that Rajasthan’s batting is more experienced and strong than its bowling, the batsmen should try to add 20 to 25 runs extra on the board.
As far as last match’s bowling is concerned Chetan Sakariya once again proved to be economical by giving just 18 runs in 3 overs. Though he was not able to provide the much-needed breakthroughs to the team. Chris Morris proved to be a wicket-taking bowler for Rajasthan. He took 2 wickets in 4 overs. Spinners are getting help from Delhi’s wicket and Rajasthan must include Shreyas Gopal into the squad. He can provide good strength to the team’s bowling lineup.
1. Sanju Samson :
From the prior 2 games, Sanju is playing prudent cricket and he is not taking much risk while batting. He is the top scorer for RR against SRH. He scored 382 runs so far when these two sides met each other.
2. Jos Buttler :
Jos Buttler looking in good touch. He just requires to settle down a bit and restricts himself by playing casual shots and throwing his vital wicket away. If he performed as he did against Mumbai with a bit of calmness and responsibility, he can be the match-winner for the Royals.
3. David Miller :
David Miller is the biggest asset the Royals have this season. The only thing they need to do is use him at the right batting order and take advantage of his experience.
Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their previous match against Chennai and so far they’ve lost 5 matches and won only 1 in this competition.
In the last match, David Warner scored 57 runs but his strike rate was the big reason why SRH couldn’t be able to put a big total on the board. Manish Pandey in the middle order played a good knock of 61 runs in 46 balls with a strike rate of 132.61. Kane Williamson and Kedar Jadhav played the role of finishers by scoring 26 and 12 with a strike rate of 240 and 300 respectively.
While the batting seemed good in the last match, bowling is below average and that’s the reason why CSK chased down the target easily. Only Rashid Khan was able to pick 3 wickets and the rest went wicketless.
Delhi’s spin-friendly track will help Rashid Khan in taking wickets and bowling economically. His deliveries are not easy to read for any batting team. Apart from him Khaleel and Sandeep Sharma need to provide 1 or 2 breakthroughs in the power play. Rajasthan’s batting is not that deep which is an advantage for SRH.
1. Jhonny Bairstow :
Bairstow, although failed in the last match, is in good form so far in this tournament. His fearless batting approach is what SRH needs in the powerplay. So far he has scored 218 runs this season and he is also the leading run-scorer for SRH. If he gets successful in putting pressure on Rajasthan’s bowler by attacking them, then he is the one who can take SRH to victory easily.
2. Manish Pandey :
After so much criticism he faced for his strike rate, Manish Pandey bounced back more effectively in the last game by scoring a good half-century with a very good strike rate. He has scored 215 runs against the Royals so far. He might be the batsman SRH needs to provide them a solid middle order.
3. Rashid Khan :
Keeping Delhi’s spin-friendly track in mind, Rashid Khan can be the most destructive bowler against the RR. His economic bowling and wicket-taking ability can win SRH this game. He has taken 7 wickets against Rajasthan and can be the game-changer for SRH.
At this stage of the tournament, both the teams are weak and desperately want a win to improve their chances to make a place in the playoffs. All depends on how the star players from both teams perform. For Rajasthan, batsmen need to score runs because of an Inexperienced bowling line up and for SRH its bowlers can play a match-winning role against the Royals. It’s 55-45 in the favour of SRH.
