SA vs SL Dream11: Johannesburg is ready to host the second and final test between South Africa and Sri Lanka. After registering a comprehensive victory in the first test, hosts South Africa will be high on confidence. Their bowling was toiling at one point in the last test but the bowlers came back strongly to stop a depleted tourist side to a modest total. Dean Elgar scored runs and Aiden Markram looked the most fluent of all batsmen. Faf du Plessis registered his highest international score while Bavuma too hit a half-century. With Ngidi, Nortje and Sipamla, the bowling looks threatening. If Rabada returns to the eleven, SL has a lot to ponder about. With a no. of positives, the Quinton de Kock-led side will be looking to turn the tables around given their poor recent series record which has saw them lose their last three test series.
Sri Lanka has been hit hard by the injuries so hard that it has become a challenge for them to even play a decent eleven. With 7 out of their 21 members under injury clouds, the side seems to be playing for survival rather than winning. Skipper Karunaratne needs to step up with the bat and lead from the front while SL will hope the hero of last SA tour Kusal Perera produces a magic performance. Dasun Shanaka showed tremendous temperament with both bat and ball and his allround skills will be important for his team. The bowling too seems a depleted one in the absence of Lakmal and Kumara who would have fancied their chances on a bouncy Wanderers track. The last time SL toured here, they surprised the hosts by winning both the tests. With nothing to lose, expect SL to come with an attacking mindset.
