Port Elizabeth, March 13, Wednesday at 04:30 PM IST
On the back of 71 runs win in the third ODI, South Africa took a 3-0 unassailable lead in the ODI series with two more games to go. The fourth ODI will be played at St George’s Park, Port Elizabeth on Wednesday evening with the final and fifth ODI scheduled for Saturday evening at Cape Town. The clash will begin at 04:30 PM IST.
The hosts, who have already sealed the series, are now focusing to fine tune for the bigger challenge – CWC 2019 and have named a couple of changes in their squad. The Proteas have recalled Hashim Amla, Aiden Markram and JP Duminy for the last two ODIs and have omitted Reeza Hendricks and Wian Mulder after an average outing in the series so far. Aiden Markram, who was phenomenal in Momentum One Day Cup with the scores of 139, 169 and 85, comes into the side along with Hashim Amla and JP Duminy. Duminy, who was out of international cricket due to injury has scored a couple of the fifties for Cape Cobras and would be hoping to be a part of World Cup squad.

On the other side, Sri Lanka faced a major blow when Kusal Perera who was instrumental in the 1 wicket win in Durban test got ruled out of the remainder of the series. Perera pulled off his left hamstring while fielding in the third ODI on Sunday and didn’t come to bat afterwards. His availability in the T20I series is still under clouds as Sri Lanka hasn’t named a replacement yet.
While the series has already been won by the hosts, the last two ODIs are not more than a dead rubber giving both the sides an opportunity to test their bench strength. The 5-match ODI series will be followed by the T20I series that will begin on March 19, Tuesday. The 3 T20Is will be played in Cape Town, Centurion, and Johannesburg on March 19, 22 and 24 respectively.
