North Sydney Oval, Sydney, 30th September at 10:00 AM IST
It was a complete onslaught by the hosts Australia Women who completely throttled Sri Lanka Women in the first T20I by 41 runs. It is now time for the second T20I to take the center stage which will be played at the same venue where the first game took place i.e. North Sydney Oval in Sydney.
Batting first, the hosts piled up a mammoth 217 on the board in their 20 overs courtesy Beth Mooney’s magnificent 113 from 61 deliveries and a quickfire 49 from 27 deliveries by Ashleigh Gardener.
In reply, it was a lone effort from the skipper Chamari Atapattu who scored an enthralling 113 from 66 deliveries which included 12 fours and 6 sixes. None of the other batters were able to contribute which led to Sri Lanka Women’s defeat.
How the two teams will cope-up now for the second T20I, we will get the answers tomorrow.
