Coming to chase, Dane Van Niekerk and Tazmin Brits provided a steady start to side collecting 35 runs for the first wicket before Achini Kulasuriya sent back Dane Van Niekerk back on a returning catch. Siriwardene and Ranaweera then ripped through South Africa’s middle order and reduced the hosts to 97-8 but South Africa held their nerves to clinch a narrow two-wicket win to seal the series.

So, with just one more game remaining, South Africa has a perfect opportunity to clean sweep Sri Lanka in the shortest format of the game. The T20I series will be followed with 3 ODIs scheduled on February 11, 14 and 17 at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom.
