SRH vs DC IPL : Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will feature in the second game on Sunday in IPL 2021. After an underwhelming start to the season, SRH finally won their first game this season on Wednesday. DC also bounced back after losing to Mumbai and won their next two games thanks to some mesmerizing batting from Shikhar Dhawan.
The battle between these two teams will mark the 20th match in IPL 2021 and it will take place at MA Chidambaram Stadium. Like always the Chepauk pitch is expected to favor the bowlers a bit. Keeping that in mind, SRH might have a slight advantage over DC as Hyderabad’s bowling attack is just terrific.
Jonny Bairstow will have a chance to climb the ladder for the orange cap against DC as currently, he holds third place with 173 runs. Bairstow’s form has been one of the few things that have been going in favor of SRH in IPL 2021. His strike rate of 132.06 poses a great threat for DC.
While SRH’s biggest strength is considered their bowling attack, Hyderabad’s batting is no joke. Skipper David Warner is looking in good form as he has scored 130 runs in 4 innings. He might give DC’s bowlers a run for their money if he gets a good start in the powerplay overs.
Chepauk’s pitch is perfect for Rashid Khan to captivate the attention of fans with his mesmerizing bowling. Khan has been very consistent for SRH with 5 wickets to his name and giving away just 5.06 runs in each over.
Shikhar Dhawan or as fans prefer to call him “Gabbar” is currently the orange cap holder. Furthermore, he became the first player to cross the 200 runs mark this season with 231 runs to his name. Considering his enormous batting average of 57.75 & strike rate of 148.08, Dhawan remains a big threat to SRH’s bowlers. He remains one of the top players to select either in your fantasy team or the combos that feature him on Khiladi Adda.
The best bowler that DC possesses as of now is South African pacer Kagiso Rabada. After missing the first game of the season, Rabada returned to the lineup and looks in great form. Rabada has already taken 4 wickets in 3 matches and could be the key player for DC to win this matchup against SRH.
If we look back at the history between the two teams; they have played a total of 18 matches. So far SRH has emerged as the better team with 11 victories to their name. Even for the next match between the sides, SRH should have an upper hand over DC and should register their 2nd win of the season.
