Surrey Stars: The Defending champs are firing all cylinders in the tournament.
While their batting department faltered a little in the first game, the bowlers did their part impressively.
Dane van Niekerk and Natalie Sciver have both been amongst the wickets ably supported by the likes of Mady Villiers and Marizanne Kapp who’ve bowled some economical spells.
Sarah Taylor has shone once again in the tournament alongside Lizelle Lee. The majority of other batters haven’t had much to do in the competition.
Southern Vipers: The Vipers’ two-match winning run halted by the Western Storm in the last game inspired by the Storm’s skipper Heather Knight.
Danielle Wyatt is in an inspired touch at the top followed by Stephanie Taylor, and Tammy Beaumont in the middle order.
Having said that, the Vipers lack a batter who can bat around these three and that one big area of concern for the team management.
Tash Farrant has led with the ball for her side having already registered two 3-fer’s in the tournament.
Suzie Bates has looked out of sorts with the bat and the ball, and she will have to get back to her A-game for the Vipers to stand a chance against the Stars.
Lizelle Lee: Lee has scored 66 runs from 45 balls at a strike rate of 146 with seven fours and three sixes in the tournament so far.
Dane Van Niekerk has been good with the ball throughout the tournament claiming a three-wicket haul in the last game; her batting is an additional bonus.
Danielle Wyatt: Though she failed to open her account in the last game, Wyatt has started the tournament brightly with scores of 54 and 40 under her belt.
Tash Farrant: She has been the star of the show for the Vipers with the ball having already claimed two-three wickets hauls in the competition thus far.
