After going down 2-1 in the one-day series, UAE drew the first blood in the T20I series by thumping the visitors in the first of the three T20Is by 21 runs.

UAE did the same in the ODI series as well when they tamed Nepal in the first ODI by 3 wickets but then lost two on the trot which eventually made them lose the series by 2-1.

Talking about the match, Nepal opted to field first after winning the toss, they did get an early breakthrough in the form of Ashfaq Ahmed who became a victim of Sandeep Lamichhane in the second over of the match. Shaiman Anwar’s 59 and Muhammad Usman’s 30 then steadied the ship which helped them reach a formidable 153 for the loss of 6 wickets.

In reply, Nepal’s lacklustre show with the bat cost them as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and barring Sandeep Jora’s unbeaten 53, no other batsmen got going. Sompal Kami and skipper Paras Khadka played a hand in the chase but it couldn’t prove eminent as they lost the game by 21 runs.
