Skipper Dan van Niekerk (212 runs at 70.67) and Laura Wolvaardt (191 runs at 38.20) were the bedrock of the Proteas batting in that series and the onus will be on them to put-up another pristine show against the likes of Stefanie Taylor (10 wickets) and Deandra Dottin (10 wickets).

Dottin has already left a mark in the tournament with a pulsating five-wicket haul (5-5) to knock over Bangladesh for 46 in the defending champions’ 60-run win in their tournament opener.

South Africa has also started their World Cup campaign with a comprehensive seven-wicket win over Sri Lanka thanks to Shabnim Ismail’s 3-wicket haul.

With both sides winning their first encounter, they’ll hope to make it two in two and move one step closer to the semi-final spot.
