Who won today’s IPL match?: Table toppers Gujarat Titans (GT) locked horns with Punjab Kings at DY Patil Stadium in the match 48th of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The Hardik Pandya finally tasted the defeated as the Punjab based franchise thumped them by 8 wickets to register their 5th win of the season.
GT won the toss and opted to bat first against PBKS. It wasn’t a fruitful outing for them with the bat as they struggled with their timing and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Sai Sudarshan was the lone warrior for his side as he scored unbeaten 65 runs and helped his side post a fighting total of 142 runs on the board. Kagiso Rabada was the star with the ball for his side as took 4 wickets for 33 runs.

Chasing the target, the move to open with Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow didn’t work for PBKS as they lost the latter early for just 1 run. Dhawan and Bhanuka Rajapaksa (40) then did the bulk of scoring for their side and scored 87 runs for the partnership. Liam Livingstone then provided finishing touch for his side with his knock of 30 runs in just 10 balls and helped his side win the match by 8 wickets.
Punjab Kings (PBKS) pacer Kagiso Rabad was awarded Player of the Match in today’s IPL 2022 encounter against Gujarat Titans. The South Africa pacer returned with the exceptional figures of 4/33 to help his side restrict the opposition to the total of just 145 runs. He removed the likes of Wriddhiman Saha, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan and Lockie Ferguson and also bowled brilliantly at the death.
