MI vs CSK

This is why Mumbai is hailed as the most complete team of IPL 2019. Their middle-order is capable of repairing any racus created by the openers while their finishers can literally rip apart bowlers in the death overs. And all this is followed by a deadly pace bowling unit that can keep opposition tied throughout the innings.

And finally all these things happened on the same night as Mumbai toppled the so far undefeated CSK  to register their second win in IPL 2019 in style.

Yadav, Pandya brothers shape Mumbai innings

The turnaround for Mumbai was started by Suryakumar Yadav who delivered  yet another innings that speaks highly of his capabilities and temperament to stand solid in difficult times.

Yadav repaired the damage done by the openers and then Krunal Pandya gave him able support in the middle overs.  Krunal was out in the 17th over after scoring 42 runs off 32 balls while Yadav departed in the next over for 59 off 43 balls.

Mumbai slam 45 runs off last 12 balls

With two overs left it seemed like Mumbai might end up with a below par score but Hardik and Pollard smashed a six each in Shardul Thakur’s 19th over while Bravo was taken for a whopping 29 runs in the 20th over.

Pollard cantered him for a six off a no ball on the third ball and then Hardik smashed two sixes and a four on the last three balls to take Mumbai to 170 runs. Hardik scored 25 runs off 8 balls and Pollard smashed 17 off 7 balls.

Chennai totter in the chase

CSK had a terrible start to their innings as Jason Behrendorff removed Ambati Rayudu on the fourth ball of the innings and Malinga dismissed Shane Watson in the second over.

Suresh Raina followed the openers and CSK were at three down for 33 when MS Dhoni walked to the crease.

Dhoni tried to repair the damage with Kedar Jadhav but Hardik Pandya removed Dhoni in the 15th over and and also sent back Ravindra Jadeja in the same over.

With wickets falling from other end, Jadhav tried to get some runs but his efforts were too little and too late. He remained unbeaten on 58 off 54 balls as CSK managed just 133 runs off 20 overs.

Malinga and Hardik picked three wickets each while Behrendorff claimed one.
