MI vs RCB 2021 Schedule: It is time to welcome the biggest cricketing festival of the town which is the fourteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). After almost 2 years of gap, the global T20 extravaganza will be returning home with Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Chennai as the hosting venues. In the tournament opener, the defending champions and five-time winners, Mumbai Indians (MI) will be crossing swords with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on April 9 in Chennai.

Each of the eight IPL teams will play only on 4 venues out of the six listed, barring their home ground. The Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians will play their first five IPL 2021 matches at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The five-time IPL winners will then move to Delhi for the next four league games before taking the flight to Bengaluru for their further three league matches. Mumbai will play their final league stage games in Kolkata.

On the other hand, the Royal Challengers Bangalore will also play a couple of games in Mumbai barring their first three matches in Chennai. The Virat Kohli-led team will then fly to Ahmedabad to play their next 4 matches before finishing their league phase in Kolkata. The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host the playoffs as well the grand finale on 30th May 2021 as per the IPL 2021 new schedule announced by the BCCI.

IPL 2021 Time Table

According to the IPL 2021 time table, there will be a total of 11 doubleheaders where 6 teams will play three afternoon games and two teams will play two afternoon games. While looking at the recent surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in the country, the BCCI has also stated that the VIVO IPL 2021 at home will be played behind closed doors to begin with and a call on allowing spectators will be taken at a later stage of the tournament.
