With a scintillating win over Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad finally got to winning ways and registered their first win of the UAE leg of IPL 2021. Batting first, Rajasthan kept losing wickets but a Sanju Samson masterclass of 82 from 57 balls took them to a decent total. Chasing 165 to win, Sunrisers needed a good start and Warner’s replacement Jason Roy provided exactly that. Skipper Kane Williamson remained not out till the end and took the team home. The performance of fresh faces like Roy and Abhishek Sharma will certainly please SRH management.
The point table doesn’t change after the result of RR vs SRH match but a loss to a bottom placed team will hurt Rajasthan Royals’ hopes of making to the playoffs. Sunrisers have kept their hopes alive and they have the ability to spoil other’s party on their day. This was SRH’s second win of the season and they will be looking to finish their season on a high. Meanwhile, RR’s hopes of qualification have taken a hit and they have a huge challenge ahead.

We have found a new Orange cap holder as Sanju Samson has surpassed Shikhar Dhawan to move to the top of the list. Samson scored a majestic 82 against SRH on a tricky surface at Dubai. With 433 from 10 matches to his name, Samson is now the leading run-scorer with a brilliant average of 54.12. The list can quickly change given there is little difference between all 5 top run-scorers. Dhawan is No. 2 on this list while KL Rahul is third.

There is no change in the top 5 standings in the Purple cap list. Harshal Patel’s hat-trick against MI has taken him way ahead of the others and he comfortably leads the list with 23 wickets. DC’s newest pace sensation Avesh Khan is second. Chris Morris continues to struggle in the phase 2 of this season and went wicketless against SRH. Still, Morris holds on to the third position on the list. Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh complete the top 5 wicket-taking bowlers list.
