Mayank Agarwal is a right-handed opening batsman who made his IPL debut for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 2011. In 2018, Agarwal was picked up by Kings XI Punjab and had a below-par season, scoring just 120 runs in 11 matches at an average of 12.00 and a strike rate of 127.65.

Agarwal’s fortunes turned around in 2019, where he scored 332 runs in 13 matches at an average of 25.53 and a strike rate of 141.88. He followed that up with an even better performance in 2020, where he scored 424 runs in 11 matches at an average of 38.54 and a strike rate of 156.45. His innings of 106 off just 50 balls against Rajasthan Royals was one of the highlights of the tournament.

In 2021, Agarwal had another good season, scoring 441 runs in 12 matches at an average of 40.09 and a strike rate of 140.44. He was one of the mainstays of the Punjab Kings batting lineup and played some crucial innings throughout the tournament.
