RCB lowest score in IPL scorecard: The Indian Premier League (IPL) has provided cricket fans with some incredible moments since its inception in 2008. However, not all moments have been good ones for the participating teams, and Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) lowest score in IPL history is one such moment that the team would rather forget. In this article, we will take a closer look at RCB’s lowest score in IPL scorecard and what led to their disastrous batting collapse.

The Match

The match in question was the 27th game of the 2017 IPL season, which took place at the Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata. The home team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), won the toss and elected to bat first. KKR got off to a good start, thanks to Sunil Narine’s quickfire 34 off 17 balls, and eventually posted a total of 131 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 19.3 overs.

RCB’s innings got off to the worst possible start when their skipper, Virat Kohli, was dismissed for a golden duck in the very first over. From there, things went downhill quickly for the visitors. By the time the third over was completed, RCB had lost three wickets for just two runs on the board. Chris Gayle, who is known for his big-hitting, struggled to get going and scored just seven runs off 17 balls before he was dismissed. RCB’s innings ended in just 9.4 overs, with the team managing to score only 49 runs.

As can be seen from the scorecard, the entire RCB batting lineup failed to get going, with only Kedar Jadhav managing to score more than 10 runs. The team’s batsmen were unable to cope with the pace and swing of the KKR bowlers, and their poor shot selection only added to their woes.

The MVP

The most valuable player of the match was undoubtedly Nathan Coulter-Nile, who was playing for KKR at the time. The Australian pacer took three wickets in his first two overs, including the crucial wickets of Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers. Coulter-Nile’s brilliant bowling performance set the tone for the rest of the innings and ensured that RCB’s batsmen were never able to settle in.
