Early Days in the IPL
Sanju Samson burst onto the IPL scene in 2013 when he was just 18 years old. He played 11 matches for the Rajasthan Royals that season and scored 206 runs at an average of 25.75. He also hit a half-century and had a strike rate of 115.73. Samson showed glimpses of his potential that season, but it was just the beginning.

Rising through the Ranks
Over the years, Samson has continued to improve and establish himself as one of the best batsmen in the IPL. In the 2014 season, he scored 339 runs at an average of 26.07 with a strike rate of 124.17. He hit two half-centuries that season and played an instrumental role in helping the Royals reach the playoffs.
In 2015, Samson scored 204 runs at an average of 20.40 with a strike rate of 125.15. He played a few good innings that season, but his best knock came against the Mumbai Indians when he scored 76 runs off just 46 balls.
In 2016, Samson scored 291 runs at an average of 26.45 with a strike rate of 112.35. Although he didn’t have a great season that year, he played a few crucial innings for the Royals, including a match-winning knock against the Rising Pune Supergiant.

Becoming a T20 Sensation
The 2017 season was a turning point in Samson’s career. He scored 386 runs at an average of 27.57 with a strike rate of 141.39. He hit a century that season, becoming the first player from the Royals to achieve that feat. His 102 off 63 balls against the Rising Pune Supergiant was a masterclass in T20 batting.
In 2018, Samson scored 441 runs at an average of 31.50 with a strike rate of 137.81. He hit three half-centuries that season, and his highest score was an unbeaten 92 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The 2019 season was another memorable one for Samson. He scored 342 runs at an average of 34.20 with a strike rate of 148.69. He hit a century that season, becoming the first player to hit multiple centuries for the Rajasthan Royals. His 102 not out off 55 balls against the Sunrisers Hyderabad was a breathtaking innings.
In 2020, Samson scored 375 runs at an average of 28.84 with a strike rate of 158.89. He hit three half-centuries that season, and his highest score was 85 against the Kings XI Punjab.
Samson continued his fine form in the 2021 season, scoring 484 runs at an average of 40.33 with a strike rate of 136.72. He hit a century that season, becoming the first player to hit three centuries for the Rajasthan Royals. His unbeaten 119 off 63 balls against the Punjab Kings was a stunning display of power hitting.
