In the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, the champions Gujarat Titans acquired the services of Indian all-rounder Vijay Shankar IPL for a hefty sum of Rs 1.40 Crore. Hailing from Tamil Nadu, the 31-year-old was expected to play a significant role in the team’s campaign. However, he failed to make an impact, scoring just 19 runs in 4 matches at a below-par strike rate of 54.29. To add to his woes, he did not manage to pick up a wicket in the 9 balls he bowled.
