Who won today’s IPL match?: The 35th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 saw Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) taking on Gujarat Titans at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. It was an low-scoring thriller that saw players of both sides going neck to neck but in the end, it was the Hardik Pandya-led side who held their nerves better and won the match by 8 runs to reclaim their top spot on the points table.
Gujarat Titans surprised many with their decision to bat first. Their out of the box thinking to bat in the afternoon game didn’t work well as they managed only 156 runs. Skipper Hardik Pandya led from the front and smacked his third half century of the season. He scored 67 runs and was complimented by Wriddhiman Saha (25) and David Miller (27). At one stage they were going great guns but Tim Southee (3/24)and Andre Russell (4/5) bowled brilliantly at the death to shift momentum towards their side.

Rinku Singh (35) and Venkatesh Iyer (17) brought their side back into the game. But GT kept coming back and took wickets at regular intervals. The game saw twist yet again as Andre Russell took GT bowlers to cleaners to keep fans’ hopes alive. With 18 runs needed off the last over, the Carribean all-rounder smashed first ball on six but perished on the second ball. Alzarri Joseph then closed the match for his side as GT won the match by 8 runs.
Gujarat Titans leg-spinner Rashid Khan was awarded Man of the Match in today’s encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The Afganistan spinner returned with the figures of 2/22 and helped his side register their sixth win of the season. He removed Venkatesh Iyer for 17 runs before removing Shivam Mavi for 2 runs
