Former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has revealed his favorites for the ICC World Cup. The Indian batsman feels that Team India is the favorite to lift the coveted ICC trophy in June this year.

India competitive on any surface: Sachin

Sachin was speaking with PTI during a marathon event in Kolkata. He said that as far as India’s chances are concerned, he will not hesitate in saying that India are the favorites. He stated that he has gone on record saying that the Indian team has a perfect balance in the team where they will be competitive in any part of the world or on any surface.

At the same time, he explained that his judgement on the toughest contenders would be England, while New Zealand would be the dark horse. He admitted that New Zealand have struggled in this series but he feels that it is a good unit, and one needs to be on their toes.

Australia a competitive side: Sachin

The Little Master thinks that Australia at full strength will be a formidable side. With Smith and David Warner back in the team and their other bowlers coming back into the ODI squad, Tendulkar thinks that they will be a competitive side.

At the same time he explained that in one-day matches it’s such that when you have a couple of bad hours, 50 percent of the match slips away.

Losing Achrekar Sir a permanent void: Sachin

The right-hand batsman also spoke about his coach Ramakant Achrekar who passed away recently.  He said that he hates using this ‘was’ word that comes to him. He said that losing Achrekar Sir will always be a permanent void.
