Who won today’s IPL match?: The 42nd match match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 took place between Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at MCA Stadium in Pune. The KL Rahul-led side had a last laugh on the day as their bowlers put on a sensational show to win the match by 20 runs. With this they go third on the table with 12 points on the table.

Put into bat first, even though Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) lost skipper KL Rahul (6) early, they had a decent start as they Quinton de Kock (46) and Deepak Hooda (34) scored 85 runs for the second wicket. However, after that it was PBKS bowlers who stood tall and took wickets at regular intervals. Kagiso Rabada took four wickets for 38 runs while Rahul Chahar took two wickets as they restricted the opposition for 153 runs.

Chasing the target, PBKS were off the flyer but they were put on the back foot after they lost both the openers and Bhanuka Rajapaksa for 58 runs. Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone then stitched a crucial partnership for their side but the latter fell for 16 as PBKS found themselves tumbling at 88/4. After that they never got going and lost wickets in clusters to found themselves at tottering at 117/8. Rishi Dhawan gave his side a chance but in the end it was too much as LSG completed a comfortable 20 runs victory.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) Player Krunal Pandya was awarded Man of the Match in today’s encounter against Punjab Kings (PBKS). The left-arm spinner bowled a sensational spell of 2/11 that helped his side win the match by 20 runs. He removed Jitesh Sharma and Jonny Bairstow, who was going great guns. Not only this he also bowled a maiden over.
