Smashing a six over bowler’s head is what comes in mind for this Karnataka born wicket-keeper batsman. Part of the Indian squad which won the World T20 in 2007, Robin Uthappa made his ODI debut against England in 2006 after an impressive show in Challenger Series 2005 and 2006. As an opening batsman, Uthappa made 86 before getting run out and made a record for the highest score for an Indian debutant in ODIs.
Drop in form after the Asia Cup in 2008 and emergence of Virat Kohli resulted in the shift of Robin Uthappa to the domestic circuit. He plays for Karnataka and Saurashtra at domestic level and was the leading run scorer in 2014-15 Ranji Trophy.
Uthappa has also played all the season of IPL since its inception in 2008 and currently plays for Kolkata Knight Riders.
