Who won today’s IPL match?: The 44th game of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 saw Rajasthan Royals taking on Mumbai Indians in the Mach 44 at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. After losing 8 straight matches, there was finally some light at the end of big tunnel for the Rohit Sharma-led side as they registered their first win of the season. Even though, they came under a bit of pressure during the fag end of the match, dominated most part of it to win the match by 5 wickets.

Put into bat first, it was a day day where almost every RR batsman struggled with his timing. Jos Buttler looked completely out of sorts initially but he held his nerves well and once he got settled, he took MI bowlers to cleaners. The wicketkeeper  batsman scored 67 runs and helped his side post a total of 158 runs on the board. For MI, Riley Meredith was the pick of the bowlers and returned with the figures of 2/24.

Chasing the target, MI batters came out with a different mood and showed great intent in the power play. Even though they lost Rohit Sharma (2) and Ishan Kishan (26) in the process, but Suryakumar Yadav (51) and Tilak Varma (35) made sure that the scoring rate doesn’t fall behind. But there was a twist in the tale as MI lost both the set batsman within the span of three balls and they found themselves tumbling at 122/4. However, Tim David and Kieron Pollard (10) held their nerves and provided the finishing touch for the team. With 5 runs needed off the last over Pollard was caught but Daniel Sams smashed a six to win the match by 5 wickets.

Mumbai Indians (MI) batsman Suryakumar Yadav was awarded Player of the Match in today’s IPL 2022 encounter against Rajasthan Royals (RR). The right-hander came to bat at No.3 and played a staggering innings of 51 runs in 39 balls that helped his side chase that target with ease. His knock was laced with 5 fours and 2 sixes and he also stitched a crucial partnership with Tilak Varma.
