Somerset maintained its unparalleled run in the tournament by defeating Hampshire in its last encounter. A thumping half century by Johann Myburgh helped the team in remaining enthroned on the top position.
Surrey have also managed to prove themselves are they are comfortably placed on the fourth position in the points table. The sixth edition of the Carribean Premier League has unfolded its carpets from 9 August, Thursday and Guyana Amazon Warriors would be locking horns with St Kitts & Nevis Patriots for the second encounter.
The inclusion of Chris Gayle as their captain in the squad of Patriots turned the tides in favour of them last season. The team which finished on the last position in the 2016 edition ended up as the runner-ups in the last season.
Guyana Amazon Warriors finished third last season and they are one of the most consistent teams of the tournament having carved out their way into the playoffs every year since its inception in 2013.
This fixture is expected to be a thrilling one as on hand, where Patriots will back on the blitzkriegs of their skipper Gayle while Warriors would be looking forward to some valiant knocks from the banished Australian cricketer Steve Smith.
